Hamas Leader Was ‘Drugged And Suffocated’

[  Succinylcholine is NOT a sedative.  It is a muscle relaxer used to induce paralysis, so the victim can die awake, while his lungs refuse to work.  Mossad also knew it would be detected. ]

The Hamas commander who was killed in his Dubai hotel room was drugged and then suffocated, police have said.

It is believe a sedative was used to relax the victim’s muscles to make his death look more natural.

Major General Khamis Mattar al-Mazeina, deputy commander of Dubai police said in a statement: “The killers used the drug succinylcholine (suxamethonium chloride)* to sedate Mahmoud al Mabhouh before they suffocated him.”

He added: “There were no signs of resistance shown by the victim.”

Mabhouh was found dead in his hotel room on January 20.

The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has been widely accused of carrying out the assassination. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied this.

However, Sky’s Middle East correspondent Dominic Waghorn said it appeared the evidence against Mossad was gathering.

“It’s reminiscent of what Mossad has done in the past,” he said.

“In 1997 the Hamas leader Khaled Mashal was the target of an assassination attempt when Mossad agents tried to use a nerve agent, which would have made him look like he died of natural causes.

“That was botched because his bodyguard chased the attempted assassins and Israel had to hand over the antidote to that chemical.”

Dubai authorities have now identified 26 suspects in the case, including 12 British-Israeli nationals whose passports were used by the alleged hit squad.

Two British detectives have been sent to Israel to investigate how these passports came to be used.

Agents from the Serious Organised Crimes Agency will interview the British-Israelis as they apply for their new is proven.

*This drug has occasionally been used as a paralyzing agent for executions by lethal injection, although pancuronium bromide is the preferred agent today because of its longer duration of effect and its absence of fasciculations as a side effect. It has also been used for murder by Dr. Carl Coppolino. Suxamethonium was the drug used to murder Nevada State Controller Kathy Augustine, and was used by surgical technician Kim Hricko in the 1998 murder of her husband Steve.
