Interesting tidbits continue to shake out from the strange case of Andrew Warren, the erstwhile CIA station chief in Algeria accused of date rape.First is the overlooked statement of Algeria’s interior minister that the two “local” Muslim women who complained to U.S. embassy officials that Warren spiked their cocktails for nonconsensual sex hold “dual citizenship,” presumably American and Algerian.
That could at least partly explain why the women did not file local criminal charges against Warren, the other reason being that the CIA’s top man in Algeria worked under State Department cover, theoretically giving him diplomatic immunity.
Another factor is that in Muslim countries where the legal code adheres more or less to Islamic sharia law, women face prohibitive hurdles against filing rape charges, including a requirement to come up with as many as four male witnesses. It’s also not uncommon for victims to be punished.
But Interior Minister M. Noureddine Y. Zerhouni said last month that “the agent [Warren] is subject [to] an investigation which is still ongoing,” according to an Algerian news site.
Zerhouini also said “that the sexual scandal of the CIA man in Algeria could be connected to the U.S. intelligence framework of recruiting the victims to work with the CIA,” according to the report.
And not just in Algeria.
“Egypt compiled a list of names of women who frequently visited the American institutions in Egypt at the time, to investigate if they were recruited for the CIA,” it said.
U.S. investigators have reportedly found more than two dozen videotapes that Warren allegedly made of his sexual escapades.
Meanwhile, Warren’s steamy novel of sex and terrorism set in – you guessed it – Algeria, has gotten its first bad reviews.

A visitor to the Amazon.com site that features “People of the Veil” published in 2002, noted that the half dozen reviews that accompanied the book’s publication in 2002 were oddly uniform in their praise.
“What cracks me up is that the prior gushing reviews are all but one, by single one time reviewers, who appear with Amazon accounts at the time the item is listed, and never review nothing [sic] else, classic indicators they are all likely shill reviews by the author.”
Another amateur reviewer made a crack about the charges against Warren, and then claimed to find a curiosity.
“Hey, while five visitors found my review helpful, four found it not helpful,” said the blogger who identifies himself as “q.“. Amazon tracked those four down votes to Blackberry IPs in turn assigned to a small import export firm called ‘Langley Vetting’ somewhere in Virginia. Strange.”
Indeed. I could find no reference to a “Langley Vetting” online.

Wilson declined to comment further.
James Curtis IV, an attorney representing former program director Glenn Baude, called Wilson’s action an attempt at scapegoating.
Prosecutors have brought two dozen felony charges against Michael Steven Miller, 48, a supervisor at one of the city’s Operation Phoenix community centers, accusing him of molesting two young girls in recent months and another more than a decade ago.
Miller could face life in prison if convicted on all counts.
After Miller’s arrest, the San Bernardino County district attorney’s office investigated whether Baude, parks Director Kevin Hawkins or parks department employees Glenda Robinson and Curtis Brown had prior knowledge of Miller’s possible sexual involvement with a minor or had violated state child abuse reporting laws. The district attorney’s office announced Friday that there was not enough evidence to prove that they had violated any laws.
Curtis said Wilson placed Baude on administrative leave the next day.
“Mr. Baude has acted not only within the legal parameters that his job requires, but has acted ethically and above board through this entire sequence of events,” Curtis said. “It seems that the city may very well be looking for a scapegoat.

I grew up in Mesquite ISD. I went to Floyd Elementary from Kindergarten to 4th grade. Over the years, I noticed that the student handbooks kept getting thicker and more obtrusive. It is to the point now, having been out of school for 10 years and hearing of the repeated nonsense, and having a child about to be school-age, that I have decided to homeschool in a cooperative with several of my neighbors.

I used to love my school, my school district, and the quality education that I was receiving. I am sad and disappointed in this instance, along with the many others I learned of since I graduated.

Army recruiting need to move away form the traditional “mission” because it desensitizes the soldier to look at prospects as pawns. especilally if they (the recruiter) need a person to pass the test. After they enlist someone, it’s on to the next.The prospect sees this and thinks, “oh wow. you were just interested in making me join and thats it” Like a parent told me in the rich neighborhood of Highland Park, Ill, If my child wanted to join the Army, dont you all have an office with a sign over it? I agree.

I felt bad having to track down people or call their house, or stalk them in the malls. It felt creepy and I had a hard time making mission. Not to mention that it destroyed my marriage life, and I had missed numerous bholiday occassions because I had an A**hole boss that wanted to keep us in the office until he felt like it was time for us to go home. I would never want to experience that ever again.

More and more our concealed carry licenses are being honored in other states across the country. The goal of legislation should be to make it easier for law abiding citizens to legally carry if they choose to. This is an improvement over not being able to carry in National Parks, but it still requires citizens to educate themselves on state laws.

I am not surprised by the truth about Ed Jagles finally coiming to the light.But he is not alone . There are many many officials that should be examined for their morals and honesty on how they obtained their positions. I know for a fact that honesty did not play a role in a positions obtained by one particular judge. because i was stepped on by one for sure to get where he is. Jagel is responsible for ruining people’s lives, little kids lives (who grew up in foster systems, having everyone tell them their parents were evil), and stealing money from the government for not doing work. WHEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS MONSTERS ARREST IN 2010 TWO YEARS AFTER HE GOT CAUGHT I CONTACTED THE UPLAND YMCA AND ASKED WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF THE MONSTER THAT ONCE CARED FOR MAYBE EVEN HURT MY CHILD, WELL AS YOU CAN GUESS I GOT NO ANSWERS FROM THE C.E.O. OF THE YMCA HERSELF. SHE ASKED WHAT I WANTED IN A VERY RUDE WAY & ASSUMED I WANTED TO SUE THE COMPANY FOR MONEY, I TOLD HER ALL I WANTED WAS FOR THE UPLAND YMCA TO CONTACT & INFORM ALL OF THE PREVIOUS PARENTS THAT HAD EVER HAD THEIR CHILDREN IN THAT MONSTERS CARE WHAT HE HAD DONE. I HAVE LIVED IN THE SAME PLACE (NOT FAR FROM THE YMCA) SINCE THEN & I HAD NOT HEARD OF THIS MONSTERS ARREST. I WAS SURE I WASNT THE ONLY PARENT THAT WAS JUST FINDING OUT ABOUT THIS. I FEEL ALL THE PARENTS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THAT THE “TEACHER” THEY TRUSTED THEIR CHILDREN WITH HAD BEEN ARRESTED. I CANT HELP BUT WONDER IF I HAD BEEN CONTACED IN 2008 INSTEAD OF TWO YEARS LATER IN 2010 MY CHILD WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED ANY WRONG DOINGS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO HIM WHEN HE WAS INTERVIEWED. I BELIEVE THAT THE UPLAND YMCA HAS DONE A VERY GOOD JOB OF SWEEPING THIS MATTER UNDER THE RUG BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION REALLY WHAT GOOD IS MY OPINION? IM ONLY A LAW ABIDING, TAX PAYING, VOTING, CITIZEN. I HAVE NOTHING BUT MY WORDS UNLIKE THE UPLAND YMCA WHO BY THE WAY JUST OPENED A HUGE NEW FACILITY ON FOOTHILL BLVD. WHICH I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN! ALL I CAN DO IS HOPE THAT SOMEONE THAT READS THIS & THAT HAS ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE EVIL DOINGS OF THIS MONSTER “GARRETT WAYNE AMMON” COMES FORWARD BEFORE HE IS SET FREE WHICH I HEAR IS SOMETIME THIS YEAR JULY-2011. I ALSO ASKED THE C.E.O. OF THE UPLAND YMCA HOW SHE SLEEPS AT NIGHT SHE ANSWERED “FINE” BUT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT BY ALL THE MONEY THEY RAISED & ARE PROBABLY MAKING ON THE HUGE NEW FACILITY THEY JUST RECENTLY OPENED. THEY ALL SLEEP VERY COMFORTABLE…… IT MUST BE NICE!

You can bet your life that if this happened to any other family except a sheriff’s, Chris Cattran, and his buddy DA Doyle would lick their chops at the possible felony charge of chid endangerment., and take it all the way. When this type of thing happens to families that are on “the list”, an arrest and trial are soon to come. In Placer county, North Tahoe to be exact, the sheriffs, DA , public defender and judge run a little “judge Roy Bean” justice system where charge stacking and hounding non-violent offenders is considered sport. Recently 8 sheriffs swooped in to arrest one probation violater for giving a dirty drug test, and probation searches resemble a swat team raid. The DA charged a 20 year old man with conspiracy to commit a crime (felony) for trying to purchase beer.
