Chabot:

Your view against the RE-Legalizing of Marijuana shows your complete ignorance on the issue. It's obvious you're just a kiss ass for the CCPOA, a group that has spent MILLIONS to destroy conservatism in CA, yet you support these Constitution Killers.

Marijuana was a STATES-RIGHTS issue up until FDR, the Socialist, made it illegal Federally in the year 1937 with his Democrat controlled Congress.

You cite ridiculously inaccurate facts to state your case and I ask you this.

Is it NOT BETTER to have a system that both follows our 10th Amendment States Rights to be allowed (SC Justice Clarence Thomas sided against your radical PRO-BIG GOVT VIEWS) BUT ALSO prevents the drug cartels from running the marijuana business in CA, because the folks that would take control would be folks that are law-abiding - which will LOWER the number of police officers killed, lower the death of citizens caught in gangster gun fights and like - and I like how you used tobacco and how the taxes from cigarettes pay for health care costs (which they should, btw) as some sort of strawman excuse for PROHIBITION, which is far worse than legal products.

It's obvious you don't know a single thing about the drug war, US GOVT corruption that allows drugs to get here, etc. and it's amazing someone with your lack of understanding on such an issue doesn't know this stuff. Perhaps you lack the REAL PREPARATION needed for the job you seek.

These laws are GOING to change whether BIG GOVT socialists who follow FDR's views like it or not. It's just a damned shame Republicans like yourself lack the intelligence to make a realistic decision. It's obvious you've been either paid off by the CCPOA, or have had GOVT PROPAGANDA "spoon-fed" to you all your life to where you lack the reasoning skills to see the ENTIRE picture.

It's a damned shame when a Republican advocates for the "BIGGEST GOVT FORM THERE IS"...that being the prison cell. Trust me, on my broadcasts (viral and TV), you will be mentioned as a coward prohibitionist "SUCKER" for US propaganda...

Have a nice day as you promote the LOCKING UP or our fellow citizens for no real reason, and just so you know, TOM McCLINTOCK is against the war and against ALL drugs at the Federal Level, which shows you're out of date and bounds when it comes to freedom.

You simply lack the intelligence or again, you're bought off by a DEMOCRAT UNION, which in my opinion is a sign of crookedness. So enjoy your time as a coward to the Democrat Unions and US GOVT PROPAGANDA you sucker.

A long time ago Will may not have been so different. People were taught that words do mean things and pledging your allegiance to something actually has meaning to it. I will admit that when I was ten, I had know idea the implications of pledging my allegiance to the flag. Nor did I have any idea there was anything wrong with that.
Here is Will, 10 years old, and he understands. He understands that there is something to it. Unfortunately when you step out of the norm and think "hey, I don't believe this is true" and actually ACT on that thought, children that don't understand the thought are going to be mean. There going to be children. Hopefully Will will be strong and stick to his principle's. This boy would be more of a man then the biggest football player, if he can just stick to his principles.
I would say one thing to Will though. Look at what the gay rights fight is. Begging for Permission to have there rights. Everyone should be standing for there rights and saying that it is our right to marry anyone we choose and No legal Entity can stop us. Marriage is an individual right that needs no permission. Equality will happen when the government gets out of the Marriage business.
Its ironic that homosexuals fight for permission to marry, and I fight to not have permission for my heterosexual marriage.
Keep sitting Will.

I'm algeria and let me tell you that sharia bullshit have nothing to do with this case
the two Algerian women in question (one of them is married to a Spanish journalist) are not veilled on the contrary they seems to be atheists
and may have some connection with diplomates (a journalist wife)
first: they didn't fill a lawsuit in algeria because :
-they maybe not algerian citizens anymore
-algerian legal system is unreliable
-the case will cause a diplomatic crisis in the algerian government so the case will be covered up (remmember it's a algeria not USA !!)
-what were they doing in warren house to begin with?!

the reviews on amazon are another problem of ignorance
just because the CIA says that Warren was recruited because he is competent an knowledgeable about muslims and arabes is laughtable
the book script is also laughtable
the author don't know a thing about the so called "civil war"
even if it's fiction he make the archenemy is an alliance of Touaregs and the FIS (AIS)(islamic army for salvage)"soory if it's a strange name"
first the AIS was created later and second portraing the Touareg as bloody intergrist is laughtable
because there is no one less knowlageable about religion and praticing animalisme ,shamanisme & witchraft than the touaregs and they handlaboor is a taboo in their culture (yes yes i'm sure about that , they only do administrative business or touristique guide jobs)
to resume it all warren don't know a damn about algeria and the terrorisme decade "1990-1999" (even algerians are uncertain about that periode let alone a foreigner )
and the womem in question are involved in the case (why the scandal timing is now when the USA governement have changed )
this i let it to fellow americans to figure it out

I lose all respect for law enforcers and all hope for our society when I see people of authority blatantly defy their responsibility as public servants and role models. Is that how I want my children to act? Is he who I want my child to admire? Absolutely not.

Click on my name to participate in poll on whether David Nutt should have sacked.

The debate SHOULD centre on the concept of harm and whether this can be quantified.

If it cannot, then all drugs should be legalised and criminals who commit crimes while intoxicated and addicted treated more harshly.

This would be the fairest way since harm to the public would then have manifested itself in criminal behaviour and thus become objectively measurable.

Oh what a burden one person's mistakes can cause a nation though. It's a betrayal of the flag. It's an embarrassment, a shame and a danger to the country I believe he swore to protect. And great name and reputation for his family to be burdened with as well. Quick money- is it worth it when eventually you're indicted and one day, everyone has to answer for?

And Victorville's Christy is just as bad.

And Stout, you really need to lay off the sauce. It is written all over your face.

Thanks for pointing this out. I did not know the numbers, but not much shocks me these days with regard to the depths of greed some have fallen to.

It seems our govt. exists solely to pour out insane billions of dollars for over-priced stuff that the greedy entities charge so much more for than most people can afford! So the people who "can" afford it are driven broke by insane prices, and the people can can't afford it have the difference paid by our govt!

Best I can tell this includes MANY other things, like housing, rental property, etc…

But the fact is we can't build a higher tower by stealing the blocks from the foundation and lower levels.

Thanks to Steve Weissman for a thoughtful and necessary essay.

Disclosure: I am a big fan of Gene Sharp and his books.

It seems obvious to me that the Powers that Be (to use Walter Wink's term) will use whatever strategy and tactics that may support their narrowly conceived self-interest, including strategic nonviolence.

I am a little surprised that the the Powers now seem to understand that strategic nonviolence is extremely powerful.

The big question, for me, is the extent to which nonviolence can or cannot be used for nefarious purposes. In the past, nonviolence has always depended upon the commitment of those using it. Therefore, historically nonviolence has only been useful as a tool of the people and against the Powers that Be.

It may be possible to use nonviolence by paying the participants, but I don't know of anyone having tried this. What we have so far experienced is some funding of training by outside forces, but the masses of the participants have been motivated by their own commitments. This, it seems to me, is a very good limit on the extent to which the Powers that Be can pervert nonviolence toward nefarious purposes. Regardless of the (possibly evil) intentions of the outsiders, the participants are acting out of their own interests.

It may be possible to use nonviolence by paying the participants, but I don’t know of anyone having tried this.

As a Navy psychiatrist serving in the US during the Vietnam era, I saw a number of children and families under stress. Later, as a civilian practitioner our clinic and hospital dealt with some of the aftermath in families.
The stress of deployment can also trigger vicious cycles in families. Wise advice! Stress can also trigger vicious cycles in families.
Visitors might want to read "REDUCE STRESS--RECYCLE YOUR FAMILY!" appearing in installments at http://www.stressedfamily.blogspot.com. Click the "September" link on the blog to read about overcoming cycles such as nagging/avoiding chores, where each person blames the other for causing a cycle that goes on and on, time after time, back and forth.
"If he did it the first time I ask, I wouldn't have to nag."
Versus: "If she didn't nag, I would do it a lot quicker."
The challenge is to blame the cycle, not each other. Get some ideas about switching to positive cycles of love and support.
Another post in that covers resilience, the ability to cope with stress and keep on functioning.

Valid medicinal value, it’s a victimless crime, the War on Drugs WAY too costly, too many arrests for simple possession, tax it and use the money to pay for health insurance and to reduce the deficit. Need I say more?

Woodstock Universe supports legalization for a variety of reasons. Check them out and vote in our poll "Should marijuana be legalized?" at http://woodstockuniverse.com

Current poll results: 96% for legalization and 4% opposed.

Add your vote. Poll runs through October.

Thanks to Mr. Morales for his leadership. If there weren't such a market for illegal drugs we wouldn't be tampering with indigenous uses of sacred plants. We north Americans should focus on reducing the want and use of cocaine in our own boarders.

Please clarify the title to say "Mentally Retarded," not "Mentally Disabled." This title suggests that Autism is a mental disability, when in fact it is a behavioral disorder, not a mental disability. Fry's disability was the fact that his IQ is less than or equal to 70, not that he is autistic.

So, does this opinion mean property appraisers should make full disclosures to taxpayers of all evidence and information they know about the value of a property instead of withholding data favorable to taxpayer's? In the grand scheme of things, a property appraiser is like a prosecutor - delivering assessments upon which government demands taxes.

By Nathan Baca, News Channel 3 Reporter
nbaca@kesq.com

A former investigator with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office is the target of a criminal investigation.

Recently retired D.A. Senior Investigator Candette Hammond is accused of perjury.

News Channel 3 has confirmed Sheriff's detectives handed over the case just days ago to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Candette Hammond is not under arrest tonight. But, she soon could be. And, dozens of criminal cases this DA investigator took part in her years of service are now in question.

According to internal affairs reports obtained by News Channel 3, Hammond first came under suspicion in 2006. Her immediate supervisors at the DA's office concluded she made up an entire interview while investigating a criminal case.

They brought the matter up to then Chief Deputy District Attorney Eileen Hunt. When Hunt told District Attorney Rod Pacheco about it, she claims in a recent lawsuit Pacheco told her "don't disclose anything." The DA's office denies this ever happened, calling Hunt a disgruntled ex-employee.

Hammond targeted former District Attorney Investigator Luis Bolanos for investigation. The State Attorney General's office arrested him in 2005 for domestic violence and perjury.

After losing his job, and his livelihood, a judge determined the case against Bolanos should have never seen the light of day.

Bolanos speaks out, "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that because of Rod Pacheco, and his directions, there are individuals in custody right now that do not deserve to be there. For this man to supervise and direct, I could be sitting and talking to you in jail right now. Now, who would have listened to me then?"

We interviewed Olga Bates May of 2007. She knew Bolano's ex-wife. Bates says the DA's office ignored her when she told them the ex-wife admitted lying to her about the charges and the gifts she received from Hammond.

"I was interviewed by two FBI agents and they were amazed that after my letter of complaint to the District Attorney about Candette's investigation and her behavior, that no one bothered to talk to me from that office," said Bates.

The District Attorney's office discounts Bolanos as another disgruntled ex-employee.

David Downing is a former prosecutor and now a superior court judge. He testified in support of Luis Bolanos to get his named cleared.

Downing later claimed the DA's office tried to commit the act of "witness intimidation" against him. They call Downing's words "irresponsible." The DA's office claims Downing is yet another supposed disgruntled ex-employee.

The Sheriff's Department in Palm Desert handed over the Candette Hammond case to Al Franz with Palm Springs Police because much of the alleged perjury happened in that city.

The fate of dozens of criminal cases handled by Investigator Hammond now hang in the balance. But, Bolanos says his life is already ruined.

"I lost the ability to care for my kids. I haven't been able to take care of my kids for the past 5 years. Destroyed me. That's what Mrs. Hammond means to me."

News Channel 3 received a response late Friday afternoon from John Hall at the DA's Office. It reads: "The District Attorney's Office has no comment on this inquiry."

We have in depth reporting of this investigation on our website, KESQ.com. Just go to the home tab at the top left of your screen and in the section titles "Special Reports," click on "Inside The DA's Office"

maybe this is a little off topic but it is california andrights are bering violated. there is a small town in california that is apparently stuck in a time warp, at least where american civil liberties are concerned.
whio out ther has had dealings with Sonora or its neighbor, Jamestown? the good ol' club runs toulomne county. Its not just just at a judicial level it s law enforncement, the publuic defender, the DA and child protection services. They fact that they are all in bed together is a gross confict of intrest to begin with.
Profiling is the norm, the residents know this and to my horror and dismay just accept this, usually their hands are tied through their children... children they will lose, never to see again, unless they role over , shut up and take it. We all know that if "Big Brother" wants a person to be guilty of something they will be. The government (i use the term loosly) wants to know everybody, and not in a we-want- tobe-ther for-you sort of way. One step out of line, walking to the 24 hr. store at 9:30pm on a thursday, for example, you will find yourself getting'pulled over' and jacked up. By jacked up I mean I.D. ed, searched, ran through the county and state data base, accused of being on drugs, threatened with jail and called a liar. Only to be sent home and told to stay there. This person is 39 years old.
My own son spend too long in the bathroom, according to his teacher, and he dispatched the security guard to go see if she could catch him smoking pot in the boys room! my son sports shoulder length jet black hair, 2 lip rings and rides a skate board. His attire is consistant with boys his age who use their appearance to promote their desire for freedom, their individuality within a group, if you will. No, he wasn't smoking pot in the bathroom at school and i was insulted that they thought I'd raised a total idiot. The officials ,however would have you beleive that this is a common practice with teenagers in Sonora. After all isn't a defiant teen a sign that there are drugs involved, at a base level.... home? Before were done you can that in order to keep my kid I will comply with what ever they decide to imposs. I am thinking , drug tests and random searches for everyone! If one feels violated in any way you get told to suck it up and quit doing drugs. Keep in mind there has been no evidence to support this supposed drug use and no conviction of any crime but if youwant to keep your kids you'd be wise to grin and bear it and long for the day you're off thier radar. My daughter, who as of this writting has never been arrested for a crime, yet found her self ,seperated from her daughter (1 year old at the time) for 18 months and forced to attend a rehab group, voluntary drug testing (alcohol, too) etc. True she signed away her rights upon entering the program, or she would lose her daughter for ever... this county will take someones kids away and acually adopt them out, and then have the audacity to arrange supervised visits with thier new mommy and daddy for you, if you're good, that is. They will sink thier hooks into you and never let go. They will continue to extort from you, harass you and try to intimidate you at every turn, comply or move away. it shouldn't be that way . at he very least there should be a sign warning people that they shold check their rights at the border, they will be of no use to youy in toulomne county, not in 1849 and not now. I'm not sure there wont be reprecussions from this blog entry.

They will continue to extort from you, harass you and try to intimidate you at every turn, comply or move away. it shouldn’t be that way . at he very least there should be a sign warning people that they shold check their rights at the border, they will be of no use to youy in toulomne county, not in 1849 and not now. I’m not sure there wont be reprecussions from this blog entry.

All external agencies that have been hired by the US are jewish, zionist organisations. It's about time the citizens of the US woke up to some facts like exactly who it is that rules your country, it sure as hell aint the Americans. The jews own America. Wars started in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and soon in Iran are instigated by the jews. The yanks just send their sons to be killed in these illegal wars. As far as 9/11 is concerned go and see all the evidence out there that proves without a shadow of doubt that it was done by your own government!

Medically, there is no question. Marijuana is safer than alcohol. It is not possible to overdose and die from marijuana, but many do just that with alcohol each year.

Prohibition laws make marijuana more accessible to underage people than alcohol. That might be a good thing, however unintended.

For discussion of Minnesota marijuana laws on my blog, go here: http://wp.me/pAFjr-3
