VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Jurors in the Virginia Beach trial of a Navy officer have convicted him of first-degree murder in the slaying of his wife.
Jurors deliberated for three days before reaching their verdict Monday in the trial of Lt. Michael Lee Everage. He was convicted of killing his wife, Robyn, who was seeking a divorce after discovering he was having an affair with one her girlfriends in addition to a homosexual affair.
Robyn Everage’s body was found in the woods in Virginia Beach on Feb. 21, 2007.
Michael Everage’s attorneys claimed she may have been struck and killed by a passing truck.
He faces a maximum of life in prison.
